Last training of the year will be Thursday 16/12/10, and we will resume
training on Tuesday 04/01/11. Have a safe and merry Christmas and best wishes
for the new year! Stay in shape and use this downtime to reflect on what you
hope to achieve with your kendo in the new year. This is also a good time for
conducting maintenance on your bogu and shinais.
Please be at the final TUESDAY training (14/12/10) for a special training
session and club competition for ALL members, children and beginners included.
This can be a fun introduction to competitive play, and there WILL be prizes!

Congratulations to Thomas Oesser for winning the Fighting Spirit award
at the Moo Do Kwan Open Championships! Personal best, two wins and two losses.

Master Soong of Moo Do Kwan Burwood Dojo is hosting his clubs' open
championships. We are looking to field a Dan and Kyu team. Show some club spirit
and join Dale and Doug, who have so far put their hands up.

Animania demonstration was successful, and we drummed up a lot of interest. This was a good opportunity for our club to appeal to a different demographic. As well as this, the webmaster's daughter, a previous member of the club placed in the Animania cosplay competition with her cosplay group, 'Ace Attorney' and won Best Skit.

Shinbukan Kendo Club has nominated to host the 2011 Founders Cup in August next
year. After successfully hosting it in 2004 we hope we can make it better next
year!
Toshio Nishimoto has been training with us on a regular basis since his grading
to 4th Dan. We hope to have him instruct us on a regular basis. Already we are
learning techniques he has brought back with him from his recent trip to Japan.

The club has been approached by Animania to hold another live demonstration on
their main stage this year. We'll be doing the demo on the Saturday from 1-1:30.
We're hoping to get member from the Sydney Iaido club to join us. Visit
